Privacy notice
Last updated: October 2026
This notice explains how Weird Wisdom Limited looks after personal data when you visit babelbell.com or get in touch with us. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
Who we are
BabelBell is a venture of Weird Wisdom Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15665363. Our registered office is 1 Alfriston Park, Seaford, England, BN25 3LS. For anything about your data, email privacy@weirdwisdom.co.uk. We are the data controller for this website.
What we collect
If you send a demo enquiry or otherwise contact us, we hold what you choose to send: your name, your organisation, your email address, your phone number and whatever you write. Our web server keeps standard technical logs, such as the pages requested and a shortened record of the network address, to keep the site secure and working. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Why we hold it and our lawful basis
We use your enquiry to reply to you and to run the conversation that follows. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering an organisation that contacts a business, and, where a request leads to work, the steps needed to enter into or perform a contract. Security logs rest on our legitimate interest in protecting the site.
About interpreted calls
This privacy notice covers the website. The BabelBell interpreting service itself is sold to organisations under a separate contract, and the data handling for live calls is set out there and in our Security notice. We design the service for public service deployment with UK data handling and auditability.
Who sees it
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for marketing. We use a small number of trusted suppliers to run our email and hosting, and they only process data on our instructions. Your enquiry is handled within Weird Wisdom Limited, which runs BabelBell alongside its other ventures.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as there is a live reason to, then remove them. Security logs are kept for a short period and then rotated out.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we will deal with it. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date above.
